Marvin J. Lurie

Welcome

Thanks for visiting my website. I'm a retired old guy who has been writing poetry for a long time. I've participated in a thick catalogue of courses, critique groups, workshops, seminars, institutes and even a master class during this time and written a lot. I've "submitted" very little though, and even that impulsively and randomly. So odds are you've never heard of me even if you're in the poetry business.

I've had poems published in a five anthologies and won five money prizes for my poetry amounting to just over $500. Fortunately I had legitimate work as a business owner and non-profit trade association executive.

As a project during the early pandemic years I assembled about four dozen of my poems into the book Telling Signs, published in January 2023 by Finishing Line Press. The endorsements describe my book as, "...filled with rich and accessible language. These poems are intellectually stimulating and emotionally engaging, written in plain, even austere language."

I've tried always to find value in human experiences and evoke insights that may be relevant to your life. They're not all dead serious, though. The book is also full of stories that I think you will enjoy reading.

You can order from the publisher, Amazon, or I can send you a copy for $20 including postage.

Order from me through PayPal at http://paypal.me/tellingsigns. Be sure to include your name, address and email in the "What is this for?" box so I know where to send the book.
