Fishing On The Sandy River

Constant flow pushes against my waders
the glacier-fed river urges me to come along.

Its faceted current scatters light,
flickers of sun beguile me to come along.

Restless water whispers in my ears,
entices me to come along.

Sighing wind escorts the river through the canyon
presses against me, encourages me to come along.

“Join my escape from the mountain,” the river says.
“Travel with me to the great sea, come along.”

Firs grasping the rock walls of the canyon,
the otter sunning on the far bank, they say, “stay with us, stay with us.”
